Texas Debt Law

Defenses and the statute of limitations

What is a suit on a sworn account?

Short answer

A Texas procedure (Rule 185) that lets a plaintiff prove certain accounts by affidavit unless the defendant files a sworn denial. Texas courts have generally said credit card debt isn't a traditional sworn account, but plaintiffs still plead it, so the Answer should address it.
